Internet Explorer Users: Drag the blue "e" out of the address bar and drop it on your desktop. An icon will be created with the title of the page in it. Netscape Users: Drag the 'Location' item to the left of the address (URL) and drop it on the desktop. The same thing will happen:  an icon will be created with the name of the page as its title.

With Internet Explorer, you can also create a shortcut by Clicking on the page with your mouse. Right-Click the mouse, and then select "Create Shortcut" from the pop-up menu. *NOTE:  Make sure your cursor is NOT over an image or a link on the page when you make your shortcut, or "Create Shortcut" will not be available from the pop-up menu! This method only works in IE.

Safe Surfing Tips from the Webmaster

Anti-Virus Software:  Always keep your Anti-Virus Software up-to-date. Your Anti-Virus software can't do its job unless it's updated with the latest virus definitions. I personally recommend Norton Anti-Virus Software:  www.norton.com.
Firewalls:  If you have a DSL or Cable Modem, you should be using a Firewall. This creates an extra line of defense against hackers gaining access to your computer. You can get free Firewall software from ZoneLabs: www.zonelabs.com/store.
Windows OS:  Keep Windows updated with the latest security patches. This is incredibly important because Microsoft is constantly finding bugs in its software, and updating Windows helps plug security holes as they're discovered.
E-Mail Safety:  Never open attachments you're not expecting until you confirm first with the sender. Virus-writers can fake the "from" field in your incoming e-mail, so just because you know the name, does not automatically make the e-mail legit. Never click on links in an e-mail, unless the e-mail contains a personal message that identifies the sender. An e-mail that contains a "generic" message, such as "Check this out!" or "Party Pics" and no other text...and no personal message...can apply to a million people. Be suspicious of these kinds of messages! Clicking on a link can cause a virus to be downloaded to your computer!
Credit Card Safety:  Never respond to an e-mail that asks you to click on a link to update credit card information. There are a million e-mail scams that work by luring people into giving up their personal info online. Always log onto a company's web site by typing the name into your browser window yourself...never from an e-mail link! Secure Web Sites:  Look for the small image of a lock in the lower right corner of your browser window to identify a securely encrypted web site. If you can't find the lock, make sure your status bar is activated: Click "View" in the toolbar in Internet Explorer. If you don't see a checkmark beside "Status Bar" in the drop-down menu, then click on it to activate. Also look for the web address to begin with the letters:  https. The extra "s" stands for "secure." Only provide personal info on secure sites. Normal, everyday e-mail is not secure! Never send private info such as credit cards, passwords, etc. in regular e-mail!
